‘Public Indecency: Queer Art In Britain’, the Radio 4 three-part series surveying LGBT art from the 1860s to the 1960s, started on Monday 17 July. The first episode, ‘Coded Desire’, presented by the actor Simon Callow, can be heard again on catch-up / i-player. It includes a contribution from Colin Cruise (School of Art) on Simeon Solomon. He acted as an advisor to the Tate Britain exhibition, ‘Queer British Art 1861-1967’, that runs until 1 October 2017. He wrote several catalogue entries for the exhibition catalogue including the introduction to the opening section also called ‘Coded Desire’.
